Broadband, FTTC & Ethernet Products
The term broadband commonly refers to high-speed Internet access that is always on and faster than the traditional dial-up access. Broadband includes several high-speed transmission technologies such as:
(ADSL)
Used primarily by customers, such as Internet surfers, who receive a lot of data but do not send much. ADSL typically provides faster speed in the downstream direction than the upstream direction. ADSL allows faster downstream data transmission over the same line used to provide voice service, without disrupting regular telephone calls on that line.
Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC)
Involves running fibre optic cables from the telephone exchange or distribution point to the street cabinets which then connect to a standard phone line to provide broadband. This is combined with a copper cable from the cabinet to the home or business which uses VDSL or similar technology that can deliver much faster speeds over shorter distances.
Ethernet
This end-to-end fibre solution offers unparalleled levels of reliability and speed. It can be implemented in most locations regardless of whether or not fibre is currently available. Speeds of 1Mbps to 10Gbps and low latency ensure that the most demanding real time applications can be handled with ease. Options include our highest service levels (99.93% availability), a seven hour circuit fix and four hour Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) replacement service.
