Junior football team scores sponsorship deal with local Technology firm
Thornaby and Ingleby Barwick Football Club (TIBS) is looking tip top ready for the start of the new season thanks to being kitted out by a local telecommunications and data firm.
Teesside-based Main-Tel, which specialises in voice, data and security systems installation, has provided new training kits and equipment for the TIBS U10s team.
Thanks to the generosity of Main-Tel, each player on the team now sports an Errea tracksuit with their squad number on, along with a rucksack for their kit and boots to match. Main-Tel also donated prizes for the team’s annual race night and end of season presentation.
Main-Tel’s Operations Director Anthony McGlade said: “We think it’s really important to give something back to the local community and TIBS is a great team who play right on our doorstep. They are run entirely by volunteers, so they more than deserve it.
“A member of our staff also has a son that plays for the team, so it’s great to have a human connection. He comes into the office on a Monday morning and tells us all how the lads got on, how the game went and who was man of the match. Some of the staff have attended matches to see them play and were extremely impressed by the standard and commitment shown by the boys.
“We hope to continue the partnership and sponsoring of the team until they finish as U18s and we definitely see this as a long term commitment to children’s football in the area.”
TIBS FC previously won the Teesside Junior Football Alliance Team of the Year and is made up of players from the local community. The U10s team recently played in the Yorkshire Festival of Football at Flamingo Land against a number of teams from across the country, with one of TIBS’ players Brooklyn Joyce being named player of the tournament.
Lee Simpson, manager of the U10s team, said: “The whole team is extremely grateful for the support Main-Tel has shown in providing matching training wear and equipment for all the players.
“This much needed equipment would have taken a considerable amount of fund raising had it not been for Main-Tel. We are very lucky to be working with such a generous local business and look forward to showing off our new Main-Tel sponsored training wear to upcoming games and tournaments.”
