A North East company has reaffirmed its position as a market leading Telecoms & Data firm by securely connecting Armani’s new flagship store.

Stockton-based Main-Tel, whose clients include HMRC, Cleveland Cable and Nifco, recently installed the latest in telecommunications and internet services for the luxury brand’s newest store in Glasgow, as well as stores in Kildare in the South and Belfast in the North of Ireland.

The partnership with the international brand, which began after a chance meeting in 2002, has seen the telecommunications company work with all of Armani’s sites across the UK, including its head office in Kensington.

Spanning more than a decade, the contract – which comes at a time when telephone and data security is high on the news agenda – has included the installation and maintenance of telephone systems, phone lines and internet services, as well as routing and IP translation services for remote access and VPN to Armani’s headquarters in Italy.

Main-Tel’s managing director, Tom Howson, said: “You would imagine that working for such a prestigious brand would be difficult as they want things to be just right, but this comes as second nature to Main-Tel and the engineering staff, as we pride ourselves on good professional service.”

“We have worked with Armani for such a long time that we know exactly how each other works and how they would want equipment installed and if on display, presented in the manner they are renowned for.”

Armani’s UK operations director, said: “We had no hesitation in using Main-Tel for our communications and data networks across the UK, after having them recommended to us by one of our worldwide partners. If they were good enough for them, then we had to use them.”

“The people at Main-Tel provide the level of service and care that a brand such as Armani must have in this fast paced environment and they are always on hand to offer advice and support should it be required.”

“Thanks to Main-Tel we now have the systems and network in place across the country that will support our stores and business as we grow and expand further into the UK market.”

Although Main-Tel has an international client base, it has always been a keen advocate of regeneration in the North East, after having used additional revenue from its work with HMRC to provide loans to Teesside SMEs, and more recently having teamed up with Middlesbrough College  to further enhance the apprentice skills.

Jordan Armstrong, who has been with the company since July 2013, completed a 12 month NVQ level 3 course in Telecommunications and Fibre Optics ending in 2014 and is now undertaking a 24 month course at the college in order to complete his apprenticeship ending with a NVQ level 4 in IT & Telecommunications system testing/management.

Main-Tel’s engineers have also recently updated your telecommunication knowledge with the latest Unified Communications System from Panasonic, the KXNS1000 Unified communications platform training and engineering course, further adding to its commitment to quality services.
