The Customer

Tees Barrage International White Water Course is home to an International standard white water centre and is a world class facility offering exhilarating outdoor pursuits such as white water rafting, white water kayaking and powerboating, as well as sailing, canoeing and bell boating for those who prefer more tranquil activities.

The Challenge

They had ‘High flying’ plans to construct the UK’s BIGGEST Sky Trail™ high ropes adventure course on the banks of the river Tees standing 18 meters tall.

TBIWWC came to Main-Tel with quite a unique challenge to supply and install telephone lines and internet services to an Island next to the river Tees allowing the new adventure hub the ability to make and receive calls and take chip & pin transactions.

The other challenge was to allow calls to be automatically handled and managed via an automated system, informing the caller of the exciting new adventure trail and how to book.

The Main-Tel Solution

Main-Tel were very keen to help with this very unique project. We firstly addressed the automated answering service with our ‘Cloud’ based automated answering platform with a Golden number, professionally recording a bespoke customer menu in a suitable and interesting way , by using a young person voiceover.

Our project planning team addressed the physical problem of installing a telephone line and internet connection to the near virtual Island next to the river Tees, by overcoming the obvious physical water problem with a 4G enabled router and a Wi-Fi data/voice link back to its online booking system, instead of using the expensive point to point microwave link, along with the installation of a small Local area network Cat6 cable within the Island AirTrail booking adventure hub.

The ‘Cloud’ based automated answering platform linked back to the white water course telephone phone system and customer services for answering of calls for booking purposes during closed periods of the Air-Trail.

Result

Tees Barrage now have the ability to communicate with the public first hand assisting them in booking their adventure online. The staff are able to alter the ‘Cloud’ calling platform to suit the way the Air Trail manage calls in the event of inclement weather whilst still offering a professional service.
